I've been shopping for the occasion. First, a girl's gotta have the perfect under pinnings for that perfect dress.
What about this hat? A little bit too much? Yeah, I agree. :)
I bought these pantelettes, but I don't know..................Rhett says none of the women in Pari are wearing them anymore.............. :)

OK. I made my decision. It's this blue one. :)
Here's a little Scarlett that wants to come to the party, too.
These paper dolls are currently up for bid on Ebay. Looks like the whole gang is there....even the Tarleton twins. I just gotta have these!
I'm planning a trip to Atlanta next week, and I hope we get to eat at Aunt Pitty Pat's Porch.
While in Atlanta, I hope to visit the Gone With The Wind Museum in Marietta, GA. They have this ORIGINAL dress that Vivien Leigh wore in the movie. Only 7 original costumes have survived, and this is one of them.

Here are two more Gone With The Wind sites that I found interesting. There is a museum in Jefferson, TX and also a B&B. Here's the link http://www.scarlettohardy.com/
Also a great online site is http://www.scarlettonline.com/
Here's some pics of Vivien that I have rarely seen.
Why did they cut this scene from the movie I wonder. She looks so pretty in this dress.
I have always wanted some earrings like Scarlett's. She wore them several times in the movie.

Great underpinnings my dear! That hat was humongous, lol!
You will SO love the gwtw museum. The dress is absolutely amazing, and so tiny. There were some other costumes there when I visited too.. such as Belle's hat. Will you be able to go to the other museums as well? I can't wait to hear what you think.
Those particular paper dolls are getting more and more rare. Snag them if you can!
Cute little Scarlett too!
Thanks so much for attending, it was fun!
Nikki
Oh I agree it would be a hard decision ... but I rather fancy my fellow Aussie from Tassie!!
Fun post...I really enjoyed it.

This was so much fun!! Thank you for posting the wonderful pictures! Gone With The Wind is my all time favorite book and Movie. You are doing a wonderful job on your site. Kerrie
Wonderful site! The Shaw-Tumblin Gone With The Wind Collection is currently on display at the Hollywood Blvd Cinema in Woodridge, Illinois. This collection has 41 ORIGINAL COSTUMES worn in GWTW in addition to 4 of Vivien Leigh's Hats! On September 1oth, 11th and 12th they will also be exhibiting 6 costumes at the historic Paramount Theater in Austin, Texas.
A classic and unforgettable film.
The dress is absolutely amazing.
Hugs
I loved seeing those rare pictures of Scarlett, especially the first one. Oh and Rhett was the one for me too ;)

Hi D! What a cute little Scarlett you have here today! Boy, does she put me to shame in my blue jeans! Hope you're enjoying your holiday weekend, and all the Blogland Ball festivities! ~tina
Great post! I think your little Scarlett is such a doll! I'm going to the museum in Marietta in three weeks. I am so over joyed!!! Where is the restaurant you called Aunt Pitty Pat's Porch? I would love to check it out!
Hugs Ashley
Hi, D
I am with you! Give me Clark Gable any day! I loved all of your wonderful photos and memories of GWTW. I would love to visit the museum in Georgia. Maybe one of these days. I am going to look into the one in Jefferson since it is much closer. Vicki
Cute post! I have never understood what she saw in Ashley. Love Clark! I would so love to go to the museum... Lucky!
~Liz
Oh I agree about the Errol Flynn! Ashley never held any appeal for me either. I love the Blue Dress! That's the one I chose as well. Great minds think alike! How neat to be able to see the GWTW Museum. You'll have to post about it if they let you take pictures. Enjoy the rest of the ball!
Oh my goodness! I totally agree with you about the famous Mister Ashley Wilkes --- what a wimp, no backbone at all. I have wanted to say that for so long. Thank you for being my inspiration to let go of that baggage!!! Truly, I really got a big kick when I saw what you said about Ashley and Rhett!!! Gotta love those dark haired guys! This has been so much fun! Hope you will read my blog, if you already have I have just added some dolls all dressed up for the ball.
Colleen
Oops! I forgot to congratulate Little Scarlett , she is adorable!
Hi D! Happy Gone With the Wind celebration sweetie. Looks like you are going to have a smashing good time at the party. Love the undergarments. Wonder how you are going to drive though? Those dresses are so darn big. I agree about the Errol Flynn, Ashley never held any appeal for me either. I would have chosen that blue dress as well. It is absolutely beautiful. We will be watching for pics my friend. Country hugs sweetie, Sherry
Fab frocks!

Hi D, thanks for stopping by my blog today! Wasn't this GWTW Celebration Ball alot of fun! I agree about Errol Flynn playing Ashley, that would have been much more believeable!
What a neat post! I wish I had remembered this party although I don't know what I would have done. That Vivien Leigh was one gorgeous woman and the costumes, oh my. Makes me want to run out and rent the movie asap! Cindy
I enjoyed all of this! Little Scarlett is darling!
Enjoy your trip and tell us all about it when you return!
Katherine

ps That young Scarlet is beautiful!
Lovely time meeting you here at the ball. I must agree with you about Rhett and Ashley. Errol Flynn would have been eye candy for the part, but, I can't see Rhett picking him up to take him to the bed room in the scene where Ashley was shot. This was a great tribute!
That was a blast visiting you...and the cute little Scarlett too.
My post is finally up. I love everyone's post..they are great.
Stop by if you have a chance~Sheri
Love your post ~ what a great tribute to GWTW! You are so lucky to get to visit some of the places that still have some of the great memorabilia from the film! And I SOOOO AGREE with you about Leslie Howard ~ no contest whatsoever between him and bad boy Clark Gable!

What a fun post. Paper dolls are a great find. Have a ball.
My mom would love this! She is such a big fan. She has the paper dolls, she bought them at the museum in Jonesboro. We've never been to the one in Marietta.
I had missed this. Great post! I'm not a GWTW collector, but I love hearing trivia about the film. Your comments about the men in Scarlett's life and your ideas about alternate casting of the Ashley character were fascinating.
Bye for now,
Bill
I loved this! I big Scarlett fan! Now you have a picture of her in the blue dress! I looked all over the internet for it for a long long long time. I saw it once in a shop, but it was framed a 16x20 I did not like the frame. I never found the print! I can't wait to meet you on September 25 for the luncheon. Are you bringing anyone with you?
Hi, Here is a link for the direction to the Mississippi Magnolia Southern Belles Luncheon.
