I'm Flaunting My Red Today

OK! I know it's shameless to show off grandkids, but she IS wearing a red dress. :)

And I can't show one without the other. Jamie is showing us her mad face.
See the red in her baby harness?

Here's my kitchen with red accents. It's a work in progress, but I do love the granite I picked out (New Venetian Gold)

Here's my "shabby chic" table in the LR

This cute little chair, I got at Lowe's this past Christmas. The girls just love to sit in it and watch tv and play videos. It's just their size.

I'm really proud of my red and white quilt. I have been wanting one forever, and found this quilt top on Ebay. A friend had it quilted for me for my birthday.

Love my Betty Crocker Cookbook!

And finally, me as a "Wendy" redhead. :)
Be sure and visit Nancy at Southern Lady

to see all the other gorgeous reds.

Master Bedroom

Isn't this fun? Kelly at http://www.kellyskornerblog.com/ is hosting the Where You Live Party, and we get to see inside lots of bloggers' houses. This is my master bedroom. The color is Hollingsworth Green, and I love it. It's so soothing.

This is the left side of my bed. I love my little battery operated clock. I depend on it to wake me every morning, and it's very dependable. :)

The right side of the bed by the window. My master is not that big, but it's just the right size for me right now.

This is where I put on my make-up. Girls, you really need to have two lights on either side of you to put on make-up. It's gets rid of all those ugly shadows. :) Mirror is BHG from Wal Mart.

I love this little cherub picture. You can see it too good because of the glare, but she is teaching a little bird to sing.

This is the view from my bed. My tv is behind that cabinet I got from Pier 1 several years ago. I like to hide my tv's.

I found this little rug at an antique place, but without an antique price. :)

The curtains are from Laura Ashley. "Melrose" is the pattern.

Closeup of the curtain.

Thanks for looking! And Happy Dreams in your Master Bedrooms!

Dinner in the Dining Room

Welcome. Today we are having dinner in the dining room, and everything's coming up daisies.

The pattern is "Sculptured Daisy" Poppy Trail from Metlox (Susan has this set, also; and I feel so lucky to have found it at a local flea market :)

I found the centerpiece on Ebay, so it's (you know......fake, but shh! don't tell)

Julia is checking out my new birdhouse. It was a gift from a friend. She's thinking of moving in, and Dudley is thinking, "Oh no! Not again!" hehehe

I just used a green ribbon with a daisy for the napkin ring. (I can do that...right?)

I found these cute little "stick on" daisies and coasters at Wal Mart.

Here's my little hutch. Right now it's green, but soon it will be red and be moved to the kitchen. I want a larger buffet table to go here.

The duck salt and pepper shakers are my mom's. They are very old. I thought they went well with the yellow and green.

Here's my chandelier. I hate it. I think it's pretty, but just not my style. What do you all think about it? I would sure value your opinions. I am wanting one of those wooden, more primitive candlestick chandeliers, but they are sure expensive.

Thanks for stopping by. I was going to make cupcakes with green icing and a daisy on top, but I can't find my cupcake tins. Oh dear! Do you think I'll ever get everything in order in my new house?
Please be sure to stop by Between Naps on the Porch to see the other beautiful tables.

More Silly Travel Pictures

Hi! Here's me(left) and my good friend, Lisa on another travel adventure. Here we are at Niagara Falls getting wet. I lost my sunglasses, so Lisa found this old pair of hers in the glove compartment. Aren't they just the ugliest, most out of style ones you've ever seen? hehehe (Sorry, Lisa)

I thought the painting in this bathroom was hilarious! Look at that expression on Moe's face. LOL!

And here we have a real "honey"of a picture. This sign was just asking for this pose. :)

Here's Lisa's Mae West impression.

And here is my "Edith Ann" (Lily Tomlin character) imitation. Anybody remember her?

We went to the Jello museum just because we thought it would be funny to tell everybody we went there. But , actually, it was pretty intersting. Are you jealous you didn't get to go?

No caption needed here. hehehehehe

We couldn't wait to call about THIS deal! :)

Here's Lisa looking like Dale.

And finally.........."Now they tell us!" Sorry about the poor quality of the pic, but just in case you can't make it out, it's an aligator, and the sign says "No swimming" Hope you enjoyed these silly shots. We always have a great time on our travel adventures. Next time, it's the "Pillsbury Bake-Off contest where Lisa had a chance to win $1 million dollars.

Breakfast in the Kitchen

It's time for tablescaping again with Susan at Between Naps on the Porch. Be sure to visit her wonderful blog and see all the other beautiful tablescapes.

Good Morning. Won't you join me for breakfast in the kitchen?
We are eating light, and it's nothing fancy.

But we do have a bowl of fresh strawberries. Yum!

Aren't these napkins pretty? Somebody worked hard on them.

Would you like some toast and homemade applebutter with your orange juice and coffee?

We have a bouquet of fresh gardenias for our table. Lean forward and smell them. Isn't their scent just heavenly?

As you might have noticed, I'm one of those "red" girls. Red just makes me happy. I thought these pretty little strawberry plates and cups would go good with our little breakfast this morning. I found them at Burkes Outlet. Do you have one of those? They have really cute stuff. The juice glasses are vintage from Ebay.

I got the cute little salt and pepper shakers off Ebay, too. Thanks so much for stopping by. I really appreciate it.
Next week: "Daisies in the Dining Room"

Table for Two? Right this way......

How about this cozy little table by the window? (Please excuse the lack of window dressings and the unironed tablecloth. It's so hard to find good help these days. :-P

Here you go.

What's that? You'd like me to dim the lights. Well of course we can do that.

How's this? :)

The silverware is a gift from a friend. I don't know the pattern, but I've seen it advertised in "Victoria" . Isn't it pretty? I love it.

The dinnerware is an old pattern called Apple Blossom. I bet most of you already knew that. :) It belongs to my mom. I think it must be her wedding china.

I got these glasses just recently on clearance at TJ Max. See the cute little daisies?

A bird's eye view for one last look. I do hope you enjoyed yourselves, and that you will come again. :

Please go to Susan's
