Why do kids do this????

"OK, you can play with the scissors, but don't even think about cutting your hair!"

Hello, Bloggy friends. This is a recent picture of my three year old granddaughter, Jamie. Only her hair has gotten a lot longer and prettier since this was taken. (Until today)

Well, here it is today, after she decided to give herself a haircut. Yikes!

It looks even worse on the other side! Do all kids do this? I know my other granddaughter cut her hair, too.

Here I am on the right after my sister had given ME a haircut. Look at those bangs!!!! hehehehehe
Oh, well, the best thing is that it Will grow back out. :) And I'm trying not to "sweat the small stuff". :)

Apple Picking Time

It's Tablescape Thursday over at Susan's Between Naps on the Porch. Hooray!

Hello, Bloggy Friends. So, most of you are in the mood for Fall, eh? Well, for me, before it's "pumpkin" time, it's "apple picking" time. So, I have set a very simple apple table in my kitchen today.

One of my favorite places to go when I go to the Smokies, is to the "Apple Barn" at Pigeon Forge.
That's where I found these little apple plates, and the apple runner (pssssst......it's not really a runner, it's actually two napkins pieced together. If you look close, you can see where they meet)

I used my rooster plates under the apple plates, because I liked the way it looked. hehehehehe

My old, red coffee pot (a recent find) looks right at home on this table setting.

Look at those nice, juicy, red apples! hehehehehehe (Don't look too close at the nicks in the wood)

Here's one of my other favorite "apple" places to go. The Apple Farm at San Luis Obispo, CA. It's like the Apple Barn in Pigeon Forge, only much prettier! (sorry for the small pic)

It's also an inn. SOOOOO country cozy. This is the lobby.

They have a wonderful gift shop!

I got to go in the Fall several years ago, and it was decorated so pretty!

This was a Fall display in the gift shop. I loved this red hutch! I wish I could go back. sigh!

Here's me posing on the pumpkin display. Gee my hair was long and BIG :)

Thanks for stopping by. You are always welcome at Sunny Side! And thanks for all the sweet comments you give. You girls are such a wonderful group. I'm so glad I found you!

Doll House and Other Reds

Hello, Bloggy Friends! Today, I'm joining Sue at "It's A Very Cherry World" for "Rednesday" Thanks Sue.
I want to show you my new "old" doll house, a recent antique shopping find. Because of the colors (especially RED), I had to have it)

Somebody made it. I love the front porch. It was so dusty and neglected. It needs a lot of love.

It even has an attic.

I have already been buying a few things for the house. (I have big plans, but don't want to spend a lot of money)

A few "attic" finds.

Downstairs, to the left is the kitchen. I was going to do a "retro" kitchen and use my Hallmark ornaments, but now I want to do it more like a farm house kitchen. I will have to do something with the floors, too.

I love this kitchen rooster clock that will hang in the kitchen. :)

Here's the living room. It will have a fireplace, and a roll top desk soon. So many cute miniatures out there, and I have always been fascinated with miniatures. Now I can play with my own.

This room will either be the bathroom or second bedroom. I can put the bath upstairs next to the attic.

This hutch is going in the LR (I think), and here's some little things I've bought for it.

Even the drawers are functional.

Here's the master. I have a bed ordered for it. See my "doll's house doll house"? That is my favorite thing I've ordered!

See the little, red door?

You can even buy furniture for your doll's house doll house.

This red coffee pot was also a recent find.

I posted earlier about the Good Housekeeping print that I had copied.

I finally got it framed, and I think it turned out pretty well.

Thanks for visiting me and letting me show off my little doll house. I'm really excited about it.

Also joining Mary at Work of the Poet for "Ruby Tuesday"

Still on the Planet and a Trip to Storyland

Hello, Bloggy friends. I have been MIA for a while. I was visiting my good friend, Lisa. Here are some pictures of Idlewild Park in PA that we visited.

Story Land is a part of it, and it reminded me of a similar place I used to go to when I was a kid.

Let's go through the giant story book and have a look.

The first to greet us was Mother Goose.

Here's the outside of her little house. Isn't it cute?

Here I am outside of the Three Bears house. Let's go in.

Hmm! This porridge looks like it's been cooling a little TOO long! :)

There are the three beds upstairs.

I'm stuck in the pumpkin shell! And I don't like it very well.

It's the wolf waiting for Little Red Riding Hood. Looks like he's taking a nap.

Here's the outside of a pretty restaurant where we ate.

I thought the way they had decorated the windows was so pretty.

The food was SOOOO good.

Now for some silly travel pictures.

"Any ole cannon balls down there?"

One of the three little pigs.

We had fun with these chocolate cigarettes. Remember those from your childhood?

We had a great time. Thanks for stopping by. Lots going on around the Sun Porch. I will share soon.
