Christmas Table

Hello, it's me and I'm joining Susan's Tablescape Thursday for my Christmas table.

I'm using those popular plates from Walmart combined with my plaid plates.  Using Pioneer Woman's tablecloth.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas.

I'm Feeling "Blue"

Hello, Well, I redid my sun room in BLUE and decided I wanted to share it with my Blog friends.

I was inspired by all the blues I've been seeing in magazines lately.

So here it is.  I really love it.
I started with the rug and white curtains I found at Ole Time Pottery.  The curtains are pretty and were
only $l9.00 a pair.  Since I have three windows, this really saved me some money!

The white bird hanging came from there too.  (I think I love that store)

"The Pioneer Woman" line at Walmart was just what I needed for my table.

The blue pitcher came from Jo-Ann's

I really think the coordinating napkins are cute.

Thanks for stopping by.  I have been reading your posts even though I have been posting.

Goodbye

Dear Blogging Friends,  After much consideration, I have decided to close my blog.  I feel I am not
posting enough to merit you following me.

To all who considered my blog worthy of your "following", I am deeply appreciative.  I will continue to enjoy your posts.

It has been a wonderful experience, and to those who press on, I admire you deeply, because I know that even though fun and rewarding, blogging can also be challenging and demanding.

Thank you again.  Donna

P.S.  Can I still change my mind if I change my mind later on?  :) :) :)

A Wonderful Hidden Treasure

Today I wanted to share with you something I treasure very much.
When we were moving Mom's stuff, we found  her beautiful Brides Book.  Somehow it had gotten  stuffed behind one of the drawers and had been there all those years.  I had never seen it before, so you can imagine what a wonderful surprise it was for me.

This is one of the cards I found inside.

as well as the invitations to her showers.  She got married in 1944.

I can see everything she got for her showers.  Note:  She got .50 cents from "Aunt Vada" hehe I guess that was a lot back then?

I can read all the "Advice for the Bride"
I love this book so much.

I have always loved the 40's style.  Isn't this 40's bride pretty?

 Here is my mom.
People have always told me how much I look like her.

Mom and Dad on their wedding day.  Her dress was blue.  I remember playing "dress up" with it.
(I think I might have posted this pic before.  Sorry if I have)

Here is my new "old" dresser.  I had wanted one for so long and found this one for a great price.  I can sit down and put on my make up, plus it has a full length mirror.

Finally, I found this little picture at the Dollar Tree.

I'm joining the fun at Beverly's Pink Saturday.  Thanks, Beverly.
