I Love Ebay

Hello wonderful friends! Whenever I see something I really love in a book or magazine, the first place I look is Ebay.


I was able to find this green picnic basket and rooster egg cup to recreate this tablescape.


You know I LOVED this display in a store window, but the lady wouldn't sell me the "Laundry" linen.


Eureka! This is my latest I was so excited when I found this almost the same piece on Ebay.




Loved this old Bovril advertising print.


Yay! Found it!


Vintage juice glasses..............


Yep! Found them!


I was even able to find original Agree shampoo from the 70's
(I didn't pay 40 cents for it though heheheheh)



By the way, if anybody knows where I can find this mug, please let me know. Ebay let me down on this one.

BBQ Red, White and Blue

 Hello, Bloggy friends. I've set the little, red table in the SR with Red, White and Blue.

 My inspiration (besides the 4th) were these cute, little placemats I found at Big Lots. They only had two left. :( Love the yellow rick rack for the mustard.

 So I used my "stuff" to make the place setting. Plates are from a few years back.

I can't remember where I found the retro looking chair votifs, but I did get them this year.

Now, we'll go into the kitchen for some ice, cold watermelon .........................

I'm using my vintage tablecloth that I really love.

Here's my inspiration for this "watermelon" scape. This house "magazine" house is one of my all time favorites for ideas on red, white and blue.

PSSSSST...........................................wanna know a secret? I didn't have time to finish the sunroom in red, white and blue before I published this post, so I just "shoved the yellow and green stuff to one side.

Recent Spottings of Reds

Hi, I'm back from a three week trip to Indiana, and here are some of the random
reds I spotted.

The Stream Cliff Tearoom. A favorite place to visit.

Beautiful flowers everywhere.  Love the use of the old wash tub for a planter.

I love this fairy statue in the garden.

They have some really cute stuff to buy in the gift shop. Loved this pillow.

What a wonderful front porch. (I was sitting in the swing)

A cozy room in the Stream Cliff winery.

 

 

I liked the red touches on the front porch of this house.

I’ve Found It!

Hi. I finally found a round, white, bigger table for my kitchen. It was just what I was looking for.
Found it at one of my favorite antique malls for a great price. I can now sit SIX instead of FOUR.

I love the legs and the way she painted it with the "chippy" look.

 

I just think it's perfect for my kitchen.

Here are my chairs before I  reupholstered them.

I loved this fabric I found to recover them with.

So, here's the old square table and old round stools.

And here's the total new look. I still have the round stools, which I'm sure I will use because I like them, too.

Antique Alley Yard Sale

The U.S 11 Antique Alley Yard sale is the first weekend after Mother's Day every year.
It runs from Meridian, MS (my home town) to Bristol, VA a total of 502 miles. How I wish I could go the WHOLE route.
I didn't spend much, but here is what I found.




Cute teapot for only $2. I was looking for yellow and green stuff since that's the colors I'm using in my SR right now.





Hard to have this simple, white basket. Also $2.

                             Perfect for those magazines, we ALL have too many of. :)

Yellow bowl/planter for the mantel.

This tea set was one of my favorite finds, too. It was only $8. The lady is going to mail me the sugar bowl lid. I love the petite lines of the handles and lid.

                                           A tiny, red chair just to "sit around" somewhere.

One of the stops along the way is The Simmons-Wright Store.  Look inside to see how old it is!




Old hats in the display case. Yes, they are for sale.



They say these shoes have been here since the 1930's. By the condition of the boxes, I know it's true.




Girls of the vintage blogs would probably love this. For me, the shoes were either too big or too small.

My Dream Home

Hello, Bloggy Friends.  Today, I want to share a picture of my DREAM home.

Here it is. Isn’t it pretty? Love the country front porch and dormers.

But here's the REAL reason I love this house:

It’s looks just a pretty from the back as it does from the front!




Porch, yes. Separate DR,yes. Study/Office, yes (would love to blog from this room).
  Fireplace, bay window, Lots of windows and light coming in, Yes.
