Hello
Bloggy friends. Today I want to show you one of my favorite books. I love this version of "The Night Before Christmas" because of the beautiful and magical illustrations by Cheryl Harness.
If I had a Victorian house, I'd want it to look just like this one. Wouldn't you? And wait till you see the inside!!!!

Here's the parlor. (I can only show you one side of the room at a time because my scanner wasn't big enough) :(
See? Everything is dark and quiet. See the little mouse under the stairs? He's even got his stocking hung. Study the room carefully. Notice the angel on top of the tree.

Now look! Santa has come! It's straight up 12 midnight on the clock. All the lights have come on.
The mouse woke up and he's taking his stocking to Santa. Look how the angel has changed. Notice the little figurine in the corner. She is now pointing at Santa.
OK, now here's the other side of the same room. The dog and cat are asleep. Notice the pictures of the man and woman on the wall.

Now the lights are on and Santa has arrived. The dog and cat have both woke up to see what's going on. Look at the pictures now. They are smiling. Did you see the face on top of the mirror? It changed, too.
It's fun to look at the pictures and see what all has changed, and the illustrations are so beautiful. When I taught day care, the kids just loved this book. Now I love reading it to my granddaughters. :)
Thanks for visiting me today. And as Santa says, "Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night". :)
