Before and After Lamp

I'm joining Susan's Met Monday at Between Naps on the Porch. Join the party for more great mets!

Here's the before of my cherub lamp I found recently at the flea market for under $16. The lampshade was dirty, but in great shape, and the cherub was gold, which I changed.

I spray painted the lamp white and scrubbed the shade with a toothbrush and a tiny bit of soap.

Here's how it turned out. My first spray paint job. And here it is on my table.
Thanks for visiting me!

Happy Pink Saturday

Hello Bloggy Friends, I'm joining Beverly for a very special birthday Pink Saturday.
First, here's a view I had this Spring out my kitchen window. Isn't that pink azalea pretty? I enjoyed it for several days.

Here's a pretty little pink ballerina (gdaughter, Peyton in this year's recital)

I've been working really hard in my front yard, but have a long way to go. Here's my Pink petunias. (I know they are easy to grow :)

Here in Meridian, we have Highland Park. It's been here since the late 1800's, and it's really pretty in spring with all the blooming flowers.

I want to share with you my vintage book I found at an antique store. Right now, I can't find the book to post the author, but I just love the illustrations!

Everything in little kitty's world is PINK............................................................

Her toys...............

Even her house has a pink rooftop and pink shutters. :)

Isn't she cute?

I think she thinks so, too. :)

And finally here's a bunch of "rocker stars" at Peyton's 6th birthday in April.
Peyton is on back second from left. The little "toot" in the front is other gdaughter, Jamie. She wanted to get in the actuion, too.
Thanks for joining me today. Visit Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for more marvelous pinks.

Breakfast on the Patio

Hello, Bloggy Friends. It's time for Tablescape Thursday over at Susan's Between Naps on the Porch. Hooray! Visit her for all the great tablescapes. Thanks, Susan!

Today, we are having breakfast on the patio. Let's go check it out.

I was trying to beat the rain when I did this, so I was kinda in a hurry. I'm using one of my vintage tablecloths of blue, yellow and white.

Rattan chargers, Gollum dinner plates and yellow salad plate.

My first attempt at flower arranging. hehehehe Yes! They are real this time (Walmart)

Fresh strawberries and cantaloupe on my compote dish from TJMaxx. I just removed the red ribbon bow from it for this tablescape.

O
Fresh oranges and (fake lemons) . (If I hadn't been in such a hurry, I would have removed those yellow votifs from the table. )

Fresh, homemade (from a can) biscuits! Yummy!

Pssssssst...................................................
Here's my inspiration picture from an old Hancock Fabric magazine from 2001.

How'd I do? :)

My yellow flowers. These open in day and close at night. I don't know what they are, but so far, I haven't killed them. (I wish I could say the same for my gerbera daisies hehehehehe)

Thanks so much for taking time to stop by on such a busy night like this. So much good stuff to look at. I'm on my way over there right now.

New Red Things!

Hello, Bloggy friends. Today I want to show you some of my new "RED" stuff. :) First, here are my new red gingham chandelier shades.
I think they make my fixture so much "cozier". (Darn! Why didn't I turn that seam around)

Not a great pic, but I love the warm glow it gives off at night.

Next, my vintage geranium tablecloth found recently at a flea market.

I love geraniums! I will use it in a future tablescape at Susan's :)
Here's a sneak peek. My geranium glasses went great with it.
(Vintage found at antique store)

More vintage "stuff" I used on the tablescape.

Some of you asked me about these little pillows. I picked them up at Walmart last year.

I hung this sign in my sun room.

Next, my very favorite find (for this round). My vintage bird cage. Saw this and had to have it.

If you look close, you can see the bird. (Not real, AND he's ugly hehehehe)

Here's how it looks in my sunroom. The sunroom is finally beginning to come together. I have a rug picked out for it I will be getting soon.

And finally, my granddaughter did this little "vignette" of Barbie in her red dress all ready for a picnic. ;-)
Thanks for stopping by. I loved having you.
I'm linking up the two very fun "RED" parties.

Cottages and Cabins

Hello, bloggy friends! I found this great magazine the other day, and it had so many great pictures, I decided to buy it. To my great surprise, Kim's " Daisy Cottage" is featured in it.

See? If she announced this, I missed it. Sorry.

This magazine is loaded with great pictures besides Kim's. I love this retro, red kitchen.
I'm thinking of getting some of those red knobs. :)

Same kitchen. Love that dinette set.
Magazines are so expensive these days, but I feel this one is well worth the money.
Congrats to Kim for being featured in it, too.

Red Things

Hello friends, it's been a while since I participated in Rednesday, so I decided I would this week.

This is a picture that was hanging on a wall at "Cracker Barrel" in Birmingham. I just loved it. Isn't she pretty in her red coat?

Here's a "thrifty find" I found at a great price recently at TJMaxx. Gotta love the Maxx!

My new, red pitcher.

I found these darling plates recently at my fav flea market here in town. I got six plates for a steal! I have seen some of these plates on other blogs, and I love them.

I'm using one for a display on a kitchen shelf.

I found this cute, red pillow at the same flea market. It kinda looks pink in this picture, but it's red.

See? :)

And, finally...........I'm so excited because I found some RED toile material that is actually RED, and not burgandy. I plan to make curtains for my sunroom out of this.

Thanks for stopping by to visit. I loved having you.
