Tuesday isTea Time

Oh dear! I hope I'm not too late to join in on all the fun tea parties in Bloggyville.

Mrs. Bear is reminding me that I haven't hardly participated in ANY of the parties.

I am hiding my face in shame behind my frilly fan.

Now let me see. I can use my pink, flowered teapot that I just found again in one of my packing boxes...............

I could probably find some really good ideas in this little book........................................

I'll use the last of the crepe myrtle blooms for some added color to the table.......................

My new garage sale find napkins should fit right in. (These were a steal at .25 a piece.......)

I'll add some homemade yeast rolls (not homemade by me), and some butter to go with the tea, and I should be all set.
Whew!! I think I made it.
Thanks for stopping by, Bloggy friends.
I'm linking up to these parties:
Tea Time Tuesday with Lady Katherine
Tabletop Tuesday with Marty at A Stroll Through Life. and
Tues.Tea for Two with Wanda Lee at The Plumbed Pen

The Versatile Blogger Award

Lucy at FlyAwayHome just awarded me "The Versatile Blogger" Award. Lucy is a very talented crafter, and she can sure make some beautiful "crafty" things.

Thank you, Lucy for honoring me this way. I do try to be "versatile" in my postings in an attempt to keep my blog interesting. :)

RULES OF THE AWARD
Link back to the person who gave you the award, and be sure to thank them, of course.
Share 7 things about yourself.
Pass this award on to 15 other blogs which you visit often and enjoy, and let them know you
have given them the award (Here's where I break the rules a little, because most of the blogs
I love and enjoy are award free.)
SEVEN THINGS ABOUT ME
1. Blogging has given me such joy, as I have found others that share my same passions, and I
have made many wonderful friends.
2. I wish I had continued taking dance lessons when I was younger. I loved being up on that
stage performing. :)
3. I love to travel and see new things although I don't get to go near as much as I'd like to.
4. I absolutely hated working, and I'm so glad I don't have to any more. My "career goal" was
to get married and be a stayathome Mom. I finally acheived my goal. :)
5. I hate getting older, and I vow "not to go down without a fight" hehehehehehe
6. I have been blessed with a wonderful family. Wonderful parents, great kids, and two
beautiful granddaughters. God is so good. :)
7. I am afraid of heights.
THANK YOU AGAIN, LUCY.

Mellow Yellowing Today

Hello, Bloggy Friends. I have a few yellow things I'm posting for "Mellow Yellow Monday" today.

Here's a shot of a pretty butterfly I captured recently. Isn't she pretty?

I was thrilled to find these corn pitchers recently at an antique shop in Tennessee. The bigger one is a "Shawnee" original, but the little one says "Shawnee Reproduction, China". I can't tell the difference. Can you. I plan to use these in the fall. :)

On our recent trip to the mountains, the Black-eyed Susan's were everywhere in bloom. Here's a shot I took of some of them growing around our cabin.

Thanks for stopping by and joining me for Mellow Yellow Monday.

Rednesday's Cherries

Hello, Bloggy friends! It's REDNESDAY over at Sue's It's A Very Cherry World. Hooray!

And, today, I seem to be sporting a "cherry" theme. Here are my cute cherry towels I found recently.

We recently came back from the mountains, and I found these cute pot holders at one of the shops. Had to have them!! :)

Here's a cute, tin sign I picked up at the flea market. (Sue needs this :)

Here it is with my cherry measuring cups from Pier 1 (Yes, I had to have some, too)

I have been loving my little red fan in the kitchen on these very not summer days.
I found it last year at CVS.
Thanks for joining me today!
Everybody keep cool. My power bill was $242 this month! Yikes!

Watermelon Time

Hello, Wonderful Bloggy friends. Time again to set our tables with Susan.
I'm using a watermelon theme for today.

This cute, tablerunner was my inspiration. I got it last summer at either TJ Maxx or Big Lots.

Simple centerpiece of red flowers in white vase. Aren't those watermelon candles cute? They came from The Apple Farm in the Smokies.

Of course, Julia and Dudley Target wanted to be in on this table, because you know how birds love watermelon rhines. :)

Cute spreader knife was in with the watermelon candles. The red striped bowl, a recent Ebay find.

I had this watermelon plate, and it seemed to fit right in with this tablescape. I think it was a complete set of dishes you could get at Walmart a few years ago.

Gollum Plates (They sure are versatile. I love them!) from Big Lots

Red Flatware: BB&B

Paper Napkins

Goblets: Hazel Atlas - Vintage

I had planned to set this table outside on the patio, but it's been raining sporatically for the past few days, so I had to set it in the sunroom.

I wanted to set it by my new watermelon birdfeeder. Recent find at Joann's Fabrics.

And I was going to use my watermelon outdoor cover, too.

Sometimes, weather just doesn't cooperate. Thanks for joining me, and please check out Susan's Between Naps on the Porch for other great tablescaping ideas.

Decorating Before and Afters

Hello, Bloggy Friends. Today I'd like to show you one of my favorite Before and After decorating books.

Kathy Peterson's Great Outdoor Decorating Makeovers

Look how she takes this plain, ordinary hammock area and turns it into something special.

Love the RED, of course.

Here, she redid a friend's courtyard and sure added WOW. She uses simple, inexpensive things, too.

I loved this dove sculpture her friend already had. I actually found it on the internet, and plan to purchase it (when I get the extra money :) Here is the link in case you are interested.
Just go to allsculptures.com and search for "kissing doves".

A corner of a porch redo.

Love the blue and white.

Cathy shows you how to do everything, and tells exactly how much each redo costs. I LOVE this book!

I'm joining Susan's Met Monday party over at Between Naps on the Porch. Thanks, Susan!

Am I Too Late?

Hello, Bloggy Friends. I thought I was too late to post my July 4th Table, but I see some of you are posting yours so I'm posting mine. Thanks, Susan for for fun party at Between Naps on the Porch. See more over there.

We had our celebration out on the patio. I used my recently found red checked tablecloth, and we were very informal, using paper napkins and plastic glasses. (No wash later :)

Flower arrangement is from the grocery store, and I found these cute flag dishes at one of the local drug stores.

I used a few decorations for the patio furniture also.

The hydrangeas were in an ugly post, so I justwrapped it in blue tissue paper and added a red bow.

I love my new, red umbrella from Lowe's, and the light set for it is from Big Lots.

Time to light the candles and sit around, relax and enjoy the evening.

Thanks for taking time to stop by. :)
Donna

What a Wonderful Dream

"I dreamed my whole house was clean"........................... It was a wonderful dream...............

but then I woke up! (House after the grandkids left) Can you relate? :)

Ahhh! Clean again. :)
I NEVER feel like my whole house is clean. Do you? There's always something that needs dusting, cleaning or vacuuming at my house. It would sure be nice.
Have a wonderful weekend, Bloggy Friends.
