Lace Socks

Hello, Bloggy friends. Thanks for all the sweet comments on my "pretend" ski trip post.

Some of you mentioned my lace topped socks. I've had these for years, but I ALWAYS get compliments when I wear them.

So here's where you can get some of your own, if you're interested:
Victorian Trading Company Just type in "socks"
Not TOO very expensive. Some are $19.95 and some are $9.95. Very soft and warm, too.

If you are not familiar with "Victorian Trading Company", they have beautiful stuff. They have a free catalog, too. :)

Let's Pretend

I've always dreamed of going on a ski vacation to some beautiful, snowy resort lodge. So today,
I've packed my bags and skis for a "pretend" trip! Come along with me, bloggy friends!!

Ah! Here's our lodge. Isn't it beautiful! I hope I get that upper room on the left with the dormer window! Love those RED trimmed windows!

We have just checked in this morning, and now it's time for a yummy breakfast. Let's get that table over there, OK?

I'm having blueberry pancakes with real maple syrup and steaming hot coffee! What will you have?

What a great view we have from this table by the window! Oh, look! There's a reindeer out there. :)

Dinnerware was a gift from friend, Gloria for Christmas. I love it so much. It came from Kohl's.

It's made by St. Nicholas square "Snow Valley"

The plate in the background is also by them....." Heartland"

Well, lots of snow out there. Let's hit the slopes!!!

Later, we can sit by the blazing, crackling fireplace, kick our feet up, and......

have some hot, Alpine cider. A perfect ending for a perfect "pretend" day. :)

I'm joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for her fun "Tablescape Thursday"
and
Sue at It's A Very Cherry World for "Rednesday"
Thanks for joining me today!

Win $1,000,000. with Pillsbury

Hello, Bloggy friends! It's time once again for the 45th Pillsbury Cookoff Contest. I received my newsletter a few days ago. All you have to do is enter an original recipe and send it on. With all the wonderful cooks on the blogs, I know you must have some recipes to send in. The contest is not til March 2012, but you need to send your recipes in beginning now.

My friend, Lisa entered her recipe and was chosen as one of the 100 finalists. She didn't win, but it was fun getting to go to the competition and all the events they planned. Here's the link http://www.pillsbury.com/. You'll see the contest rules there.
I'm sure going to enter! Hope you do too!

Breakfast after Christmas Table

Time for Tablescape Thursday at Susan's Between Naps on the Porch. Visit her for more great tables.

Here are my flowers that my sister sent me for my birthday.

I decided to use them for my "Breakfast after Christmas" table centerpiece.

The tablecloth is really a piece of material I bought from Cyndy at "Cynthia's Cottage Design"
I love her blog. Check it out if you've never visited her.

Coffee in my red coffee pot.

Cream or Sugar?

This seems to be a "chicken" themed table.

The flowers are starting to fade. :(

Thanks for stopping by today. I really appreciated it.

Sunroom Mantle Before and After

Hello, Bloggy Friends. I hope you are starting the New Year out right. Yesterday, I didn't do so good.......the first thing I ate for the new year was a piece of fried bacon. :) Today, I've done much better, and I'm joining the "Met Monday" party at Susan's. Go here to visit her.

I found this mantle at the local flea market.

It was in pretty bad shape, and very nasty and dirty.

Here it is now. I cleaned it up, and my contractor caulked and painted it for me.

I bought the wood embellishment for it at Lowes. It helped a lot.

I wanted a flat screened tv, and I needed a little extra heat, so this is the finished product.
I am very happy with it. HD tv is the ONLY way to go, friends!

When I added the sun room, my contractor put some shelves in this empty space. While I loved the shelves, I really needed the storage space more, so I had him add some doors to hide the clutter.

Much better!

Thanks for stopping by! My NY's resolution is to get rid of some of the "stuff" I don't need!
I'm running out of room. :)
