Wizard of Oz Party

Yippee!!! It's a Wizard of Oz Gala over at Twyla and Lindsey's! So follow the YELLOW BRICK ROAD over to Two Crazy Crafters and join in the fun!

I didn't really have anything thing to "show" for the Gala, so I decided I'd just "reflect" on the movie.

I first saw The Wizard of Oz at the theatre when I was about 7 years old. The thing I remember most is being terrified of the witch. Especially when they showed a close up of her in the round, gaze ball. I remember crying and asking Mom to take me home.

Can you imagine what she looked like to me..............up on that HUGE screen with that big, green face? I thought she was "going to get me" just like Dorothy. : O

I always wondered what those witch's guards were saying when they went in the gate? I thought they were saying "Oreo, re oh oh" (like the cookie :)

"No "hot?" ( sigh) "No "hot!" The tin man was always my favorite. Such a romantic. :)

My Favorite Line in the Movie:

Lion to the tin man: "How long do you stay fresh in that can?"

In my search for images, I found some funny ones. Like these look-a-likes.

hehehehehe

a little stretch on that one.

But I always thought the actor Glen Ford looked like the flying monkey. I always called him "monkey face" because of that? Do you agree?

This one made me laugh.

Thanks for letting me "reflect" on one of the greatest movies of all time. I loved having you!
and thanks, Twyla and Lindsey for such a fun time!

psssssssssssssst............the next pic has nothing to do with "Oz", but it was so funny to me that I wanted to share it.

LOL!

Those look a likes are a riot! Great post and music. I think we've all been scared by the witch at one point.

LOVE that tablescape girl!! That nifty green picnic basket really makes it.

How awesome that you went to see the bridges in Mad. Co! The pics of you in the house are just wonderful, I am envious. The kitchen and the shower, lol... too cool.
That was such a powerful movie for me as I was struggling with leaving my first husband at the time. Really hit home.

You asked about BP bangs. Nope, can't have them. I have such a strong cowlick in front that I could never have straight across bangs.
I have worn faux bangs tho, but the ones I have are too poufy. You get the idea,

I love the Wizard of Oz. Give me a big bowl of popcorn and I'm all set. I still watch it every year when it's on. It seems like it should be on soon.

Thanks for stopping by The Old Parsonage, I hope that you'll come back.

Enjoy!

Loved your post today. I just let my little 2.5 yr old GS watch this for the first time this week. I sat there watching his face and I had to laugh because when those monkeys came on the scene he ran over and jumped up onto my chair. I sure hope he did not have any bad dreams. Next day he came over and asked to watch the monkey movie:)
