Retro Tablescape

It's good ole Thursday at Susan's Between Naps on the Porch. Thanks, Susan. There are many great tables to see over there!

Today, I'm doing a retro table. I love retro, and I love red, and I have a lot of both. :)

I hated to cover this cute placemat with the dinnerware. (Did you notice my faux paux? I didn't have the knife turned right. ooops!) The flatware is from BB&Beyond.

I used my white, Walmart dishes, my red and white napkins, and simple, white napkin rings.

The green, tin picnic basket, vintage s&p shakers, and egg cup are from Ebay.

Vintage Holt Howard egg cup.

Vintage Hazel Atlas rooster cups. Love these. :)

This cookbook is an original, but I've seen repro's of it recently.

I thought this little tray fit in nicely.

pssst....................................

Here's where I got my inspiration. This little book is just full of cute projects. After seeing this pic, I searched Ebay, and found the same picnic basket, egg cup, and cook book. The rest of the stuff I already had.

Thanks for visiting me. I loved having you!!!!

I love the egg cup! I have this original cookbook from my mother also. It is still my tried and true source for many things! Great table!

I want everything on this table! You lucky, lucky girl! I'm getting on Ebay right now!

Your placemats remind me of a dish towel I have from my grandmother, it is such a prized possession of mine. And every item on your table here must be prized possessions of yours!
I've so been longing lately for the home of my childhood, and this is making me yearn all the more.
It's nice to have bits and pieces of our past to hang onto.
Obviously I love this tablescape.
All the best,
Eileen

Terrific retro tablescape! Your little table by the window is so similar to what we have at our house. We have the same grid-lined windowpanes! DH and I share our breakie there in the morning. Isn't it nice to sit there and look outside?
