The Blue Book Cover

Today is Blue Monday at Smiling Sally.
Be sure to visit her beautiful blog for
all the other blue postings. :)

The Masque of the Black Tulip
by
Lauren Willig

I have to admit, I bought this book just because I loved the book cover. However, after reading it, I have to say it was really good. The book is about a French spy called The Black Tulip, and trying to discover his identity. It's also a love story and very funny in places.I am going to buy the first book of this series called The Secret History of the Pink Carnation, which has an equally beautiful cover.

This is the painting they used for the cover. It's called, "The Summer Rose" by artist, Francois Martin-Kavel. I did a google on him, and I love ALL his work. Thanks for stopping by, Happy Blue Monday! :)

Nice Cover!
Since you are buying books for the cover....(LOL) Let me put my two cents worth in..(LOL)
I think that the cover of my book Reflections of a Mississippi is quite lovely, also.
I think that it would definitely be lovely on the coffee table of any (EVERY) Mississippi home (smile)
Check it out!
Seriously, I think that you would absolutely love the book. It won't just be eye candy.

I have read books for the same reason! You found some beauties and the fact that the story is fun is a bonus! Did you see the review on Paticia Neely's book at Southern Lady? It does look great!

If the book is as good as the cover, you have a winner. I go to my library for books and will see if they have this one.

My friend and I always laugh that we do, in fact, judge a book by it's cover! At least at first we do! :-) Sometimes, after reading the synopsis we'll put it back but we are suckers for a beautiful cover. You certainly found a lovely one here - glad to hear the book lived up to its beauty.

Happy Blue Monday!
