Dinner in the Dining Room

Welcome. Today we are having dinner in the dining room, and everything's coming up daisies.

The pattern is "Sculptured Daisy" Poppy Trail from Metlox (Susan has this set, also; and I feel so lucky to have found it at a local flea market :)

I found the centerpiece on Ebay, so it's (you know......fake, but shh! don't tell)

Julia is checking out my new birdhouse. It was a gift from a friend. She's thinking of moving in, and Dudley is thinking, "Oh no! Not again!" hehehe

I just used a green ribbon with a daisy for the napkin ring. (I can do that...right?)

I found these cute little "stick on" daisies and coasters at Wal Mart.

Here's my little hutch. Right now it's green, but soon it will be red and be moved to the kitchen. I want a larger buffet table to go here.

The duck salt and pepper shakers are my mom's. They are very old. I thought they went well with the yellow and green.

Here's my chandelier. I hate it. I think it's pretty, but just not my style. What do you all think about it? I would sure value your opinions. I am wanting one of those wooden, more primitive candlestick chandeliers, but they are sure expensive.

Thanks for stopping by. I was going to make cupcakes with green icing and a daisy on top, but I can't find my cupcake tins. Oh dear! Do you think I'll ever get everything in order in my new house?
Please be sure to stop by Between Naps on the Porch to see the other beautiful tables.

First, I love faux arrangements - mine is also faux today! Second, that was my sister's dish pattern. In fact, maybe you bought her dishes! I had the antique white by Metlox - same vintage year. I got rid of it years ago and then saw that someone had bought it recently. Both are great patterns and your table is lovely. Linda

I saw a set of these dishes recently at a thrift store. They are adorable. I had a set of pottery dishes in the early 70s called Lazy Daisy. I have always loved daisies.

Nice tablesetting. It was so bright and cheerful.

Your table is lovely and so charming! I love the little birdhouse with the S&P birdies. I have been looking all over for a pair of all white ones! The hutch compliment the table so beautifully!

Just a thought...sell the chandelier and use the proceeds toward the one you want! ;)

Thanks for sharing!

I saw those dishes at a flea market recently and they reminded me of my friend when I was little who loved Daisies.

If it will be a while before you get the chandelier of your dreams, you might try taking the crystals off this one, (Save them to decorate other things!) and then spray paint the metal parts of your fixture a less garrish color than the gold.. You could even put those little miniature lamp shades over the candlebulbs. A friend did it and it was very cute, (and inexpensive).

Hi D :)

I love this tablescape! It's so fresh and pretty :)

How about taking the prisms off the chandy and spray painting it? I think it's pretty too, but I know what you mean about wanting something different :)

Your daisy table is lovely and yes, you will eventually find everything. I, too, lost my husband 4 years ago and moved to another state. After a huge remodel, I am just now starting to find everything and trying to settle in. Good luck! I know it's not easy.

Hi there D! Thanks so much for visiting today~
What a darling blog you have. Love your decor.

Have to say, I love the chandy too, but I'm partial as mine is almost just like it.
I agree with the others, try painting it perhaps. They're pretty white, but even black and red would be gorgeous, etc. How bout the same color green as your awesome hutch.. with some sweet little shades?

Your r/w/b waverly table was just gorgeous. Better than your inspiration pic! And I really like your 70's dishes too. These daisies make such a happy table.

Nice to *meet* you!
