Sunroom Mantle Before and After

Hello, Bloggy Friends. I hope you are starting the New Year out right. Yesterday, I didn't do so good.......the first thing I ate for the new year was a piece of fried bacon. :) Today, I've done much better, and I'm joining the "Met Monday" party at Susan's. Go here to visit her.

I found this mantle at the local flea market.

It was in pretty bad shape, and very nasty and dirty.

Here it is now. I cleaned it up, and my contractor caulked and painted it for me.

I bought the wood embellishment for it at Lowes. It helped a lot.

I wanted a flat screened tv, and I needed a little extra heat, so this is the finished product.
I am very happy with it. HD tv is the ONLY way to go, friends!

When I added the sun room, my contractor put some shelves in this empty space. While I loved the shelves, I really needed the storage space more, so I had him add some doors to hide the clutter.

Much better!

Thanks for stopping by! My NY's resolution is to get rid of some of the "stuff" I don't need!
I'm running out of room. :)
D

What a beautifully turned out project. I LOVED it! How I would love to have a TV screen that large. I am looking forward to getting one soon..ok..well..maybe not until next year..but one day I will.
Our's is fairly new and I cannot have another for a bit.
:) We'll see.
Happy New Year..a day late! :)

Everything turned out wonderfully, and I think the clutter hiding doors are right up my alley.

I would love a sunroom! I just have a very hot deck. Blech.

I love this transformation. Also love the red and white stockings that are hanging on your new mantle. We want to put our tv over our fireplace one day too. I love that the whole focus of the room is on the same thing-fireplace and tv!

Wow! It looks spectacular. I've thought of adding a mantle to give the look of a faux fireplace to my bedroom. I love your idea of adding the woodburning stove in front!

Wow! What a great transformation! I think it's fabulous! My mom is remodeling her tiny little cottage and I'm going to show her this for some inspiration. Great idea!
