Why do kids do this????

"OK, you can play with the scissors, but don't even think about cutting your hair!"

Hello, Bloggy friends. This is a recent picture of my three year old granddaughter, Jamie. Only her hair has gotten a lot longer and prettier since this was taken. (Until today)

Well, here it is today, after she decided to give herself a haircut. Yikes!

It looks even worse on the other side! Do all kids do this? I know my other granddaughter cut her hair, too.

Here I am on the right after my sister had given ME a haircut. Look at those bangs!!!! hehehehehe
Oh, well, the best thing is that it Will grow back out. :) And I'm trying not to "sweat the small stuff". :)

Oh I think we've all been there at one time or another. You're right, it will grow back :) I've seen a lot worse.

Little Jamie is adorable...and you are right her hair will grow back. I think it is a rite of childhood passage to cut hair!!

You are so right-don't sweat the small stuff-wait till she is a teenager- you will wonder why you ever stressed over this!

I think it's definitely part of being a kid, that you have to give another kid a bad haircut! I remember doing that to my little friend next door, and getting into so much trouble with her Mom!

I think they all do, D. I remember all my kids doing it when they were small. I think it's curiosity. Your granddaughter is adorable!..Christine

Hi! Sorry I have not visited lately I am trying to catch up! Sometimes our lives get so consumed with Drs and appt's. But I have missed your posts!! How darling your granddaughter is even with the self imposed hair cut-ha! I think they all do it one time or another. Fun post! Hugs, Kerrie

My friend's daughter did that once to her hair and her mother was so angry that she cried in tears.

This is hilarious! Jamie is adorable with or without hair. I do think all little girls give themselves hair butchering. Mine did. Thanks for dropping and for the kind words. See you soon in blogland. Ginger

I can sympathize with you about Jamie's new hair style. Our granddaughter Avery cut her hair about six months ago and had bangs like your sister gave you. Avery's mommy cried, but Avery assured her that "it will grow back, Mommy." She was right ... it did, but it's still not as pretty, or as long, as it was before she cut it. Jamie is precious, both before and after.
