Doll House and Other Reds

Hello, Bloggy Friends! Today, I'm joining Sue at "It's A Very Cherry World" for "Rednesday" Thanks Sue.
I want to show you my new "old" doll house, a recent antique shopping find. Because of the colors (especially RED), I had to have it)

Somebody made it. I love the front porch. It was so dusty and neglected. It needs a lot of love.

It even has an attic.

I have already been buying a few things for the house. (I have big plans, but don't want to spend a lot of money)

A few "attic" finds.

Downstairs, to the left is the kitchen. I was going to do a "retro" kitchen and use my Hallmark ornaments, but now I want to do it more like a farm house kitchen. I will have to do something with the floors, too.

I love this kitchen rooster clock that will hang in the kitchen. :)

Here's the living room. It will have a fireplace, and a roll top desk soon. So many cute miniatures out there, and I have always been fascinated with miniatures. Now I can play with my own.

This room will either be the bathroom or second bedroom. I can put the bath upstairs next to the attic.

This hutch is going in the LR (I think), and here's some little things I've bought for it.

Even the drawers are functional.

Here's the master. I have a bed ordered for it. See my "doll's house doll house"? That is my favorite thing I've ordered!

See the little, red door?

You can even buy furniture for your doll's house doll house.

This red coffee pot was also a recent find.

I posted earlier about the Good Housekeeping print that I had copied.

I finally got it framed, and I think it turned out pretty well.

Thanks for visiting me and letting me show off my little doll house. I'm really excited about it.

Also joining Mary at Work of the Poet for "Ruby Tuesday"

LOve your dollhouse! I had one when I was a girl (still have it) and my sisters and I played for hours with it! I like that tiny little dollhouse inside your dollhouse! :-)

Donna...this is absolutely wonderful! Love that it has an attic! I'm becoming OBSSESSED over doll houses lately. My favs were your precious rooster clock and the dollhouse for the dollhouse! How cute is that! The furniture that goes inside must be minuscule. :) I will have to have one of those when I start furnishing mine. :)
Hugs,
Susan

D...What a treat to find your blog. Sweet Bee sent Daisey of Garden of Daisies to my Buttons for Baga because of the vintage cards and then when I went to Daisey's I found that you were interested in the collection of Halmark children's cards. Please visit my collection...I am missing a few, but am tryng to pick them up....buttonsforbaga.blogspot.com
My collection was last week's Rednesday entry and in the comments there are some links to places where you can buy the old cards.
Your doll house is so dear. I have wanted one all of my life. Maybe one day I will find an old one I can afford. The red door is really cool on the mini-dollhouse, and I love the red shutters. Your collection of furniture and goodies for it so far is fabulous. I cannot wait to see the end product. Hope to see you soon...maybe for some lemon tea...it is my favorite.

Hugs,
Genie

This is a renovation that won't cost alot, the family won't be inconvenienced, and the possibilities are endless! I love this house, especially that scalloped trim on the porch. It's going to be fun watching you make it over!
Happy REDnesday!

Hi, D! Thanks for stopping by my new website/blog. I haven't seen your blog in a while, because I lost my blogroll when I changed to a website format. I enjoyed looking back through your posts, and love, love love your doll house. I always wanted to make one, but the furnishings cost as much as furniture for the real house! If you have found a good source, please share. I might break out my trusty saws and get busy!

When I was growing up I never had a doll let alone a doll house. This one is just perfect. With all your furnishing, any little doll would enjoy it or little girl. However, it is great that a big girl is enjoying it as well.

Hi D, I am in love with doll's houses!! They are very popular right now in antique stores. Even the metal ones we used to play with in the 60's! Yours is wonderful! I especially love the little house inside the doll house! Everything is so cute. And you MUST go to the Monticello website to see their doll house version of Monticello, complete with gorgeous miniature furniture. Linda

That is soooo cute. I have a friend who has three doll houses. For sure, you are going to have to find a part time job to pay for this new addiction! LOL! You've, probably, already figured that out. They have minitures of EVERYTHNG and you'll want it all, atleast, I would. Have fun, you'll love it.

Love love love the dollhouse. I have several that I will be doing a blog on. I can't believe there are furnishings for a doll house's doll house. How cool is that. Thanks for sharing.

I just love the porch on this dollhouse! What a great find! You will have so much fun fixing it up!!! I have a large one that I found at a yard sale for $2 and I painted it up for my Ann Estelle dolls by Mary Engelbreit. I just love doll houses - and the cute things you can find for them. I have another one that I haven't started working on - it' scares me to think how much money I will probably spend! Oh - isn't crafting fun! Hugs, Patti
PS - I still love your red coffeepot!
