The Pathway

sparrow
Hello, Bloggy friends. Please come with me for a short stroll down the pathway.........

endingpath 4 GOOD

Just across the busy roadway, hidden from all passersby,
There is a long forgotten pathway,
but you can find it if you try.

path_in_the_woods-1152x864
Deep it winds into the wild wood, away from noise and dust and grime,
As you a walk along the pathway, you can join in nature's rhyme.

yellow jasmine 2
Here the fragrant, yellow jasmines grow away in wild profusion

crow
and the wily crow, the sentinel, caws and caws at your intrusion.

yellow-jasmine
The jasmine has a fragrant odor, and sometimes on a humid day;
when the winds blow soft...........and slow.............and easy,
you can smell them a mile away.

sky over meadow 3
It winds by a lazy meadow with an azure sky above.
Here live birds of all description........

lark
Larks,

wren
Sparrow

mourning dove 2
and dove.

streamlet2
Now you cross a lazy streamlet on its way to find the sea,
'long a path of least resistance, that's a pleasant way to be.

fern
On down past the glen and valley where the moss and wild fern grow,

beech tree
by the pathway stands a beech tree, 'twas a seed not long ago.

initials4GOOD
On its bark an ancient carving of a heart with names entwined.  Placed there by two youthful sweethearts as they left the world behind.

initials
As you observe the ancient carving, you wonder where the two might be.
Where e'er they are, they've both forgotten.........They forgot..............
.but not the tree.

pine trees 2
Now we leave the beech behind, and further down the path we find
a shady glen where tall pines grow o'er a soft brown carpet down below.

cow
Walk softly now, and listen closely. Hear the faint, faint tinkle of a bell.
It's 'round the neck of a farmer's milk cow as she grazes peacefully in the dell.

ending path 3
Pause here now, the path is ending, and as it was at its beginning,
just beyond is mass confusion. There you'll find no quite seclusion....
but only in The Pathway.

This was written by my dad many years ago, and it means so much to me. Thanks for going down "The Pathway" with me today.

I'll be joining Susan for "Outdoor Wednesday" .

PASSING ON MY LOVE OF VINTAGE

I have always loved vintage....even when I was growing up. Now, I love it even more, and I collect it when I can.  I  seem to be passing that love on to my two granddaughters, and I'm so happy about that.

photo
Right now, they are at the age of "wanting to spend the night with Grandmother", so I try to keep them entertained. :)

014
One of the things they love to play with is my 1940's (Repro) Fashion Paperdoll.

012
She lives in this vintage doll case I found on Ebay (ya'll know I love Ebay)

016
Who wouldn't love to have a vanity table like this? So 40's!

023

017
She has so many outfits with hats and shoes to go with each. 40's Fashions were SO pretty to me!

018

020
One of my favorite outfits.

021
                                       Evening Out.

025
                                       Time for bed.

028

031
She can even change her hair color and style.

038
I also wanted to show you my REAL vintage paper dolls. They are in wonderful shape to be so old.

040
Some little girl took very good care of them.  She even wrote their names of the back of them.

Peyton and Jamie are NOT allowed to play with these because they are so fragile.

004
I also have the Lucy doll from  Franklin Mint. She has been discontinued now, but you can still find her on the net.
010

007
She even came with her Vitametavegamin bottle and spoon. Some of those accessories belong to the Audrey Hepburn doll from "Breakfast at Tiffany's"

001
I gave Peyton the "Vintage" repro Barbie for Christmas, and she loves it and her vintage style clothes better than her modern Barbie. (YAY!)

Pink Negligee 004
A while back, I did a post about the 60's pink negligee I found .

009
Peyton LOVED it and couldn't wait to try it on. Here's her "dramatic" pose. :)

008
Here's Jamie with her "I Love Lucy" PJ's

014
The other night, we tried to do a 40's hairdo, which didn't turn out so good. (Under statement :-O)

betty grable
We were going for the Betty Grable look.

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY AND SHARING MY LOVE OF VINTAGE.

I'm joining Suzanne's "Vintage Thingy Thursday"and

Happy Rednesday and Thank You, Bunny Jean!

Home Sweet Home Coffee Mug
Hooray! I had posted about how much I loved this mug but couldn't find it, and then I got
a letter from Bunny Jean at "Bunny Jean's Decor and More" telling me she had found it and where to order it.
Wasn't that sweet???? I am so excited to get this. (I Love my Bloggy friends)Thank You, Bunny Jean!

038
Those crazy Red Hat Ladies. You never know what outfits they will come up with next.

046

This was at the 4th of July Themed party last month.

047

045
See this lady's purse? It's made from an actual BRA! hehehehe

032

This was a skit we came up with. It was funny. We had two people (planted) come up from the audience to peek behind the curtain. They hooped and hollered about how ugly the "woman" was. Then we picked somebody (who we knew had a sense of humor),
and when she peeked behind the curtain, the "world's ugliest woman" jumped out, pointing and exclaiming that SHE was the ugliest woman SHE'd ever seen.
It went over really well.

Thanks for stopping by, and I'm headed over to Sue's REDNESDAY party.
