Breakfast in the Sun Porch

Today, I'm joining the other tablescapers at Susan's Between Naps on the Porch. We are having breakfast in the sun room today.

I have set the table using another of my vintage tablecloths, which was the inspiration for this tablescape.

I love the reds and blues of this tablecloth.

Here's how I first set up the place setting. I was trying to use all three colors of the tablecloth.

I decided I liked this better using my red chargers, White Gollum dinner plate, Blue Willow smaller plate, and Gollum cereal bowl.

We are having cereal (Special K :) with bananas and blueberries. Yum!

We will have our coffee out of our Hazel Atlas rooster cups.

I'm getting to use my vintage Fire King juice glasses for the orange juice.

Red lantern is from Walmart.

I'm using my vintage rooster planter, too.

One day, I'm going to have curtains for the sun porch. :)

Thanks for stopping by. I loved having you!

Go to Susan's for other beautiful tables.

Spring/Easter Tablescape

Today I am joining Tablescape Thursday at Susan's Between Naps on the Porch.

I'm doing a pastel Easter/Spring tablescape. I used a white, lace tablecloth for my background.

For the place setting, I used my rattan chargers, my white Gollum dinner plates and plain yellow salad plate. The flatware was given to me by my friend Lisa. She used them in her Bed & Breakfast, The Wild Rose Inn. I plan to show pictures of it in the future. It was so pretty.

Lisa also gave me these pretty glasses also used at the Inn. I thought they matched the colors of this tablescape very nicely.

I recently got these bunny napkin rings on Ebay. Each bunny has a different colored ribbon.

I got this bunny in the centerpiece recently at TJ Maxx.

The pitcher is on loan for this tablescape from my friend, Gloria. Isn't it cute?

These candle holders were a great thrifty find at the Salvation Army store.

This cute bunny, candy dish came from there, too.

These cute bags are from Walmart.

At Easter, I will fill them with "goodies". :)

They came in three patterns, and I thought they all matched, so I got all three.

Blue Bunny. The yellow placemats came from The Dollar Tree (I think)
or maybe Big Lots. (sorry)

My green hutch.

Thank you for taking time to look at my table, as I know there are lots to look at tonight.
I always enjoy having you.
I'm also joining Leigh at Tales from Bloggeritaville for "Thrifty Thursday".

Fess Parker

Oh! I'm so sad. I just loved Fess Parker. I had such a crush on him as Davy Crockett when I was a kid. He died recently of natural causes. He was 85.

In 2004, I got to visit his winery and eat in his restaurant. I even got to meet him and shake his hand! This was such a thrill for me. I'm so glad I had this opportunity. His place is beautiful, and is located in Los Olivos, CA.

I'm Having a Giveaway...........

.......just because. It's not even my 100th post. I just wanted to :)

Darby O'Gill and Hunting Leprechauns

Today I'm joining Kathleen at Cuisine Kathleen for the St. Patrick's Day Crawl. Join her over there for all the fun!

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I try to watch it at least once a year around St. Paddy's Day. I don't know how many times I've seen it. This movie has romance. One of Sean Connery's first movies (He's looking good. :)

I have always loved this song from the movie. It's such a happy song. (Who knew Sean could sing) Listening to this song will really put you in the "Irish" mood.

The movie has ghosts....................

But mostly, it's about Darby, whose goal in life is to catch a leprechaun....... After watching the movie so many times, I think I've become an expert on the wee people.

They are very musical...........

They like to drink....................

They can change shapes..............

And, most important, if you catch one, you get three wishes. (There was something else I'm supposed to remember, but I can't seem to think what it is right now.......hmmmm! )

So, be vewy, vewy quiet, cause I'm hunting me a leprechaun. hehehehe

I'll just follow this trail of shamrocks.

Aha! A leprechaun hat. There must be one close by.....

Here's his house. Hope he's home.

I caught you, old boy!! Now

I want my three wishes. #1 I want your pot of gold.

"Granted! It's yours ," he says. "But I won't tell you where it is" Then my #2 wish is for you to tell me where it is!. "It's at the end of the rainbow, of course", he says. Then my #3 wish is for you to take me there."

"Granted" he says.

And look! Here it is!!!!! "Oh I wish I could share this with all my bloggy friends."

POOF! What happened? The gold disappeared! Now I remember what the movie says about the wishes....."Three wishes I'll grant you, big or small, but if you wish the fourth wish, you lose them all."

Yes, those leprechauns are pretty sneaky fellows. hehehehe

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Thanks for stopping by.
